- Support for language of my country
- Currently Chrono has full language support for English and Simplified Chinese. We will start translation for other languages in the near future.
- How to remember last file location
- This is not supported due to the limitation of Chrome's API, please see here for related information if you are interested. But we will consider this feature in our future version.
- Save As dialog prompts for each download
- You can disable Chrome's Save As dialog following the steps:
- Go to Chrome's Settings (chrome://settings)
- Click Show advanced settings...
- Clear the checkbox 'Ask where to save each file before downloading' under Downloads section
- How to disable the notifications
- See the tip.
- Cannot open my file via the button in notifications
- This is due to a bug in Chrome. It's already fixed in the latest release of Chrome's Dev channel, so you may switch to Dev channel or wait for next release of the Stable channel.
- How to change download folder
- Due to the restriction of Chrome's API, currently you cannot configure download folder inside the extension, you need
to change Chrome's default download location and every downloaded file will go into that location. Do as follows:
- Go to Chrome's Settings (chrome://settings)
- Click Show advanced settings...
- Change the Download location under Downloads section
- How to stop Chrono from auto-starting
- See the tip.
- How to automatically open file after download completes
- Currently this is not possible due to Chrome's security policy, it's likely that malicious extensions may do bad things by that.
- How to download YouTube video
- Chrome Web Store doesn't allow extensions downloading videos from YouTube, so we do not support this feature.
Tips
- Disable auto-starting
- By default, Chrono opens the Download Manager tab every time when you start Chrome, you can turn it off under Settings » General » On Startup.
- Disable notifications
- You can disable notifications/sounds under Settings » Interface » Notifications.
- Disable Task Information panel auto-sliding
- The Task Information panel automatically slides up when you click on a task in the table, you can turn it off under Settings » Interface » Behaviors.
- Using the task grid/table
- Use Ctrl/Shift to select multiple rows, or press Ctrl-A to select all rows in current view.
- Auto-adjust column width
- Double-clicking on a column header will automatically resize its width to fit the contents.
- Reorder tasks in the queue
- Use mouse dragging to reorder rows in the task table, tasks in the front of the queue will get started earlier.
- Configure double-click behavior
- Double-clicking on a row in the task table, you can configure its behavior under Settings » Interface » Behaviors.
- Configure Task Filters
- Drag to reorder the Task Filters (the left panel in Manager tab), you can also edit custom Task Filters under Settings » Rules.
- Preview image
- Allowing Chrono to access file URLs will bring you better user experience, e.g.
preview downloaded images in Task Information panel, in notifications and in pop-up Downloads List.
To enable it, follow the steps:
- Go to Chrome's Extensions page (chrome://extensions)
- Find Chrono Download Manager
- Tick the checkbox Allow access to file URLs
